Welcome to Tranquilicity - a place in Your Mind where you can experience a state of Tranquillity and Happiness.

To help You achieve that state, our Artist       Dan McNicholas - has teamed up with his Good Friend Kevin "The Groovemaster" Cain as Executive Producer and Engineer.

We have developed Tranquilicity and the other related products to provide you with a new resource for Spiritual and Physical Nourishment.

Our Music is thoughtful and melodic, our songs are entertaining and moving, yet simple and meaningful. We have worked very hard to present you with a group of works; Audio CD's - Paintings - Prints - that can give you a winning edge over the stress and worry of every day life.

What is Tranquilicity

Tranquilicity is an  experience in Meditation, Relaxation, Health and Music.

Tranquilicity is a form of Mental Focusing that helps You to tone Your Spirit and Renew Your Health and Energy. Using a 12 string acoustic guitar, a natural waterfall and the soothing voice of the Guide, we have created a guide that provides You with the pathway to a place in Your Mind; a place where You can achieve Tranquilicity.

The Audio CD of Tranquilicity will transport You to a place of Health and Happiness. You will have an experience that will continue to provide You with Relaxation and Serenity.

We have designed Tranquilicity to be both entertaining and Healthful for Your Mind, Body and Spirit. Tranquilicity can be a great introduction to the arts of meditation and stress relief, as well as entertaining and beneficial to those already experienced in the arts of Zen and Positive Thinking.

Making Tranquilicity

Dan has been performing a form of Tranquilicity for about 20 years. The piece was originally called "Mind Music and Body Tuning". He first called it "Tranquilicity" in 1995 when he painted the acrylic image of "The Pool of Tranquillity". "Tranquilicity" has been on the McNicholas Art  Gallery website since Feb. 2000.

Dan and Kevin found it challenging and enlightening working the live interactive experience of the original "Tranquilicity" into a version that would work well coming from Your sound system. They wanted to provide You with an Experience that made it seem that Dan is actually there with You.  All of the Sounds are organic and natural, except that the Birds are actually one of Dan's many impersonations.

The recording is dynamic so You can play it softly and still enjoy the subtle sounds of the acoustic guitar and waterfall. The Music for the introduction and Relaxation exercise is soothing and comforting; a mellow thrum written as a biorhythm rather than as a song.

We have designed and performed Tranquilicity to provide You with a Memory of a place, a state of mind, to which You can return again and again.

Enjoying Tranquilicity

We recommend headphones for the best Tranquilicity experience, but almost any CD player will do. Your environment is important, especially at first, but once You are comfortable and familiar with the concept of Tranquilicity You will be able to experience the benefits without the Guide or Music. For Tranquilicity You want to be comfortable enough to relax and focus Your Mind, but You do not want to fall asleep. For "Tranquilicity to Sleep" since the desired outcome is Sleep, You will want to be in a Comfortable Quiet place. For either the ideal conditions will be comfortable and quiet.

Breathing is a key element in any meditative exercise or experience. You want to develop a rhythm that allows You to breathe deeply and naturally, as slowly as is comfortable for You. Breathe each breath completely and fully, filling and emptying Your lungs with each breath. With practice You will find a rhythm that feels natural, a pace that helps You focus Your Energy.

Meditation is not magical or mysterious. Meditation is merely a method for getting past the day to day storm of stress and stimulus of Life. Whether real or  imagined we are faced each day with obstacles to success much less Survival.   We use many techniques for improving Concentration, and Performance. These techniques are used by Athletes, Actors, and Astronauts; hypnotists use them to help people to lose weight or stop smoking. Meditation is  an exercise to focus Your Mental Energy to settle and relax Your body so that Your Mind can be free to engage in Positive Thinking.

After all, You are what You Think!
